This allows Mossberg to create a receiver compatible with AR Pistol Grips as well. No more reaching for the top tang when running a pistol grip. With Picatinny rail on top of the receiver it’s ready for the optic of your choice or just run the AR style flip-up sights that come installed on the firearm.
